Aim:  prepare revision material for G322.

Objectives.. 

·      Review terminologies for TV drama analysis

·      Recognise the range of topics that cover question 2 “audiences & institutions”

Tasks create Cue cards for

1.     Camera, sound, mise-en-scene, editing, media theories.

2.     Review and update case study notes for Hollywood versus Independent movies. (e.g. Star Wars, Ill Manors, etc.)

3.     Create Cue cars for case studies… linking studies to e.g. how films were marketed, synergies, cross media convergence, piracy, etc.

4.     Create Cue cards for terminologies learnt during the course

5.     Review essay on your own experience of media consumption and the impact of technological convergence.

Develop strategies to be able to respond to any of the following questions..

–      the issues raised by media ownership in contemporary media practice;

–      the importance of cross media convergence and synergy in production, distribution and marketing;

–      the technologies that have been introduced in recent years at the levels of production, distribution, marketing and exchange;

–      the significance of proliferation in hardware and content for institutions and audiences;

–      the importance of technological convergence for institutions and audiences;

–      the issues raised in the targeting of national and local audiences (specifically, British) by international or global institutions;

–      the ways in which the candidates’ own experiences of media consumption illustrate wider patterns and trends of audience behaviour.
